Programme Outcomes

1. Define, classify and interpret the fundamental and current theories and concepts of social work.
2. Examine social problems using scientific methods and uphold social justice and human rights when developing responses.
3. Interpret social structures and social problems and conduct systematic analyses.
4. Understand the effects of social systems and culture on human behaviour and use this knowledge in social work practice while developing cultural competence.
5. Use relevant concepts and methods from psychology, sociology, philosophy, anthropology, law, management, economics and public administration in social work.
6. Contribute to social policy and service models by using knowledge of social welfare services and recognising diversity within society.
7. Demonstrate a commitment to lifelong learning, access reliable information, follow scientific and technological developments and continually update professional knowledge.
8. Communicate effectively in written and spoken Turkish and use at least one foreign language.
9. Recognise the universality of social rights and the importance of environmental protection, cultural values, occupational health and safety.
10. Follow national and international developments in social work, adapt to innovation and act in accordance with professional ethical standards.
