Vision

Mission

The Department of Social Work conducts education, research, practice and other scholarly activities aimed at promoting social justice. By educating competent professionals who uphold ethical values and can respond to complex social, environmental and economic challenges at local, national and global levels, the Department contributes to building a just and equitable society. Using contemporary educational methods and techniques, it produces knowledge and service models that respond to changing social conditions and fields of social welfare and supports their implementation.

Vision

The Department recognises the importance of understanding and addressing unjust social structures and conditions in order to promote individual and social well-being. Its principal vision is to educate professionals who meet universal standards of contemporary social work education and are capable of delivering effective interventions for disadvantaged population groups within a changing social structure. The Department also aims to contribute to universal and locally grounded social work knowledge, develop new policy proposals and methods of practice, and provide high-quality, contemporary social work education in cooperation with national and international stakeholders.
