Graduating from the Department of Social Work at Tarsus University was not merely the completion of an education; it was a valuable experience through which I developed both professionally and personally. Thanks to our expert and consistently supportive academic staff, I gained a solid foundation in social work. Applying theoretical knowledge during my placement allowed me to understand the profession in practice, gain diverse experience, and strengthen my professional confidence. The department gave me not only knowledge, but also empathy, commitment to ethical values, sensitivity to social problems, and a solution-focused perspective. I recently graduated from the Department of Social Work at Tarsus University and am among the department’s first graduates. Discovering social work was one of the turning points in my life. The department gave my life a sense of purpose and made valuable contributions to my personal and professional development. The theoretical and professional knowledge I gained from my esteemed lecturers enabled me to improve myself and move closer to the person I had always hoped to become. I believe that the knowledge, experience, and perspective provided by the department and its academic staff will guide my future professional life.

I am proud to complete the journey I began four years ago with great hopes as the second-ranking graduate of my department. Throughout university, the interest, support, and professional guidance of our lecturers made an important contribution to our development. Reinforcing theoretical knowledge through practice helped us become prospective social workers capable of producing solutions and acting responsibly. Looking back, I see that my university gave me more than a diploma: it taught me to understand people and build my profession on solid foundations. I sincerely thank all our lecturers and my university for their contributions.

During my university education, I served as President of the Cansağlığı Student Club for one year and actively participated in planning and implementing social responsibility initiatives. One of the most meaningful was “Strong Children, Healthy Futures,” developed under the UNIDES programme supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports. We organised sessions for children on peer bullying, privacy, cybersecurity, healthy nutrition, and hygiene. These activities enabled us to transfer theoretical knowledge into the field, experience interdisciplinary teamwork, and develop our professional skills.

I believe that the quality of education at our university continues to improve every day. I would once again like to express my gratitude to my supervisor, who was always accessible and supportive of both me and other students throughout my master’s programme.

The most valuable aspect of my master’s programme was working with an experienced and knowledgeable supervisor who supported students in every respect. Having a supervisor I could reach even during the most difficult times both motivated me and strengthened my sense of belonging to the university. Although Tarsus University is still developing, I greatly value its expert academic staff. I would also like to thank the Graduate School for its constructive solutions and support for students.
