Dear Students,

The increase in the number of disadvantaged groups in societies due to reasons such as developments in economic or social fields, wars, international migration, poverty, violence, social inequalities and employment problems in the historical process has increased the need for social workers. Not only in our country, but throughout the world, especially in our century, the developments in our century have brought radical reforms in the field of socialization, and the importance of basic issues such as human rights has made the social work department one of the most valid and popular departments and professions of today.

Social work is an applied profession and academic discipline that offers professional interventions by working in cooperation with different disciplines to ensure the well-being and welfare of individuals, families, groups, organizations, communities and societies by taking many basic principles and values, especially human rights and social justice, as a reference. In this respect, social work is the profession of the future that produces solutions to the diversified problems of individuals and societies. Through the education programs and applied courses to be implemented in our department, our students should have detailed information about social work ethics, have basic skills such as leadership, effective communication, being a model, and guiding and It is aimed to graduate as a qualified expert, manager and planner in the field.

Principles such as the awareness of the importance and responsibility of raising professional staff who will carry out professional work for all individuals in the society, especially sensitive and fragile groups, the educational approach that adopts student satisfaction as a principle, and the principle of not compromising on quality education summarize the basic education and training approach of our department. With this student-centered approach, I wish success to the students who will choose our department, and I wish them to have a full and satisfying university experience.
